Nightly routine:
I utilize the LCO method; I spray water on my hair after parting and apply leave in conditioner and seal with oil. I twist my hair before bed and wrap with a satin scarf. I sleep with a satin pillow.
For days I need extra hydration, I utilize the LOC method ( liquid, oil, cream) and seal my hair with a shower bonnet, this seals in the moisture. For oil, I use my mixed oil, and for cream, I use my leave in conditioner.
List of oil in my mixture:
Coconut oil
Olive oil
Argan oil
Grapeseed oil
Sweet almond oil
Lavender oil
Tea tree oil
Peppermint oil
Castor oil
Jojoba oil
Avocado oil
Rosemary oil
Weekly routine:
Once a week I pre-poo my hair with water, apple cider vinegar and coconut oil (I have a video of this up) the pre-poo helps make my detangling easier and my hair softer. After pre-pooing my hair, I make sure my hair is fully detangled, and go in to rinse. After rinsing my hair, I apply conditioner or hair masque (I usually use the shea moisture deep treatment restorative masque or the intensive hydration hair masque depending on what my hair needs). I always mix the conditioner or masque with my mixed oil containing olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and a few other essential oils. I usually deep condition overnight and wash the next day. After rinsing off the deep conditioner, I utilize the LCO method (liquid, cream, oil) and style.
Monthly:
Once a month I oil treat my hair, I apply my choice of oil, place a shower bonnet on and place my Conair portable hooded dryer. Sometimes I utilize the inversion method which is laying upside down to stimulate blood flow to the hair, and it allows the oil to run down the shaft of the hair, this is best on cleansed hair, use the As I AM cleansing pudding.
I protein treat my hair using the ORS hair mayonnaise, I usually complete my once a month wash with a sulfate free shampoo at this point then apply the protein treatment and rinse in the morning.
At any point, I trim my hair if I see need be. Before conditioning, oil treatment or protein treatment I make sure
my hair is detangled.
