WHY DETOX TEA
So, this is how I started my tea company. I am naturally a lover of tea. Not only because it was freezing cold in Russia where I schooled, but tea just gives me this relaxed feeling and all those amazing flavors they come. The two main reasons why I started my detox company was the fact that 1, it was basically impossible to find any detox tea in Ghana. Even if you did, you would pay twice the price for it. 2ndly, it was a great business plan. No one had captured the detox market in Ghana most Ghanaians didn't even know the benefits of drinking detox tea and cleansing. Almost all Local dishes contain great amounts of starch which in turn makes us gain weight. I used to be a gym and fitness freak. I would literally only drink infused water also known as detox water all day long. That was the only water I drank till I heard about the detox tea. Basically herbal tea which I had already tried before and loved!! Now, it was being sold in fancy packs and looked more appealing and I thought to myself since I'm already in the medical field and already know the benefits, why don't I make it my thing and start my own brand. Not only making profit, but also educating people in Ghana about the benefits
STARTING MY BRAND
Starting this brand wasn't as easy as I initially thought it would be. Lord it entailed a lot of research. I order from about 6 different detox companies just to experiment and investigate. Some worked miraculously, some didn't work at all and was a total waste of my money. It was easy getting the ingredients but putting it all together and finding an FDA approved tea company to properly pack, test, and process my tea was the other struggle. Took me about a year to put all that together. Most tea factories weren't willing to do that as I wanted the tea made to my specifications. My ingredients, my style, and my quantity. The first 20 samples packs were done, and I distributed it to a few friends to try and give me feedback. On taking my first sip, I realized the tea tasted like hell. It tasted like leaves. Just like the other regular detox teas and that was not what I wanted. So back to square one I was upset, I felt defeated, and I just felt I couldn't make it. All the energy and enthusiasm I had initially had disappeared. Consulted with the tea company and they advised I make a few changes here and there and coat it with honey as a sweetener. Initially, they had advised me, but I felt it was my brand, I wanna make it my way, only to realized later that making tea isn't about the ingredients it's about the precise quantity of every ingredient the proportions, the weight, the flavors. Wow!! With a few tweaks by the factory, there I had it! My first batch of Faiys teatox ready for the Ghana market.
THE GHANAIAN MARKET
Oh Lord!!! Selling in Ghana was something else! I managed to convince a few customers to try it and I'm sure they only purchased it when they found out I was a doctor. I wasn't willing to get a shop just yet. I wanted to sell myself. I wanted to analyze the market. I needed to improve my strategy. You know, it's amazing how you realize who your true friends are when you start your own business. Friends who had promised to help me promote it disappeared, gave excuses, wouldn't answer the phone, etc. amazing isn't it? I managed to get a few customers, they loved the tea I coached them the entire time they were taking the tea, helped change their diet, and they had amazing results. Now the problem was getting them to agree so I could post their pictures. Most of them didn't want that although I agreed not to show their faces. Fast forward to now, I think I have 5 customers who agreed it was okay to share their pictures. And believe me when I say, the before and after pictures have helped a lot in attracting more customers
WHAT SETS MY COMPANY APART FROM OTHERS
Well, I think I have about 3 things that sets my company apart from others.
- 1. I am a medical doctor with good medical knowledge about the ingredients of my tea, and I selected all the ingredients myself, putting into consideration the health benefits
- 2. I deal with and my customers and clients directly. I communicate with them to know how their problems with the tea, their results and give medical advice if they have any underlying medical issues before they take the tea.
- 3. My packaging and delivery system is quite good I would say. Compared to most teas on the Ghana market now, I think my packaging is better. And, we are about to even improve our tea packs
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR COMPANY IN A YEAR FROM NOW
A Year from now, I think my company would be one of the best detox tea providers in Ghana if not the best. We are looking to make a lot of improvements which I think will help the tea sell even more. In a year from now, we wouldn't only be an online shop, we would have distributors, shops of our own, and also expand to other parts of Africa. We are looking to add new better flavors to our tea all being natural of course. We already have the mint flavor, so we are looking to add lemon, ginger, and jasmine. Can't wait to release those into the market. And we have started printing on our packages rather than the regular old stickers we were using.
LINA'S REVIEW
I was sent Faiy's morning and evening cleanse to review and to be honest I was extremely skeptical about the results (if you have been following me for sometime now you've heard me mention that I have chronic constipation). I took this knowing( I was positive) it would not work ON ME.
Fasting (dry) is considered to be a detox on its own and usually during this month no matter how many fruits or food I try to take after I break my fast my constipation is usually the worst during this month so I decided to give this teatox a try when everything was unbalanced.
I'm no novice when it comes to detox and many people who have detoxed with me/alongside me usually have an extremely different reaction/route of removing waste/gas out of their bodies. I'm a burper (if that's even a thing- I should ask google LOL), where I'm supposed to be *farting and using the bathroom constantly* (TMI sorry) I would burp my way through, and though this is somewhat of a release for me (I personally think this isn't as effective) however, I was still addicted to detoxing and the whole concept of riding your body of toxins.
So when I was sent this, again I started this 28 day cleanse with so much skepticism ( I told you guys I wish I was optimistic with things I actually needed to be!)
The first tea bag I tried was the Night cleanse teatox. which had Senna leaf,lotus flower, chamomile, cassia seeds,sencha green tea, lemongrass, stevia and honey. This was my favorite.
The taste was incredible- truly. I don't like drinking my tea with any sweeteners but this was lightly coated with honey. The honey was more of a compliment than overpowering, which is what honey usually does for me.
It was recommended to take this every other night, because it had senna leaves which may cause diarrhea for some people.
I didn't listen and took this every night, I felt it was way more effective than the morning cleanse. This was because I could see and feel the results faster. The morning cleanse would usually take a few hours before it would help with my bloating (and I'm bloated 60% of the time) where as with the night cleanse it was an almost immediate effect.
Unfortunately, there are fewer bags in the night cleanse than the day cleanse- because you aren't supposed to take it every night.
The Morning cleanse promised to speed metabolism, boost your energy and reduce bloating.
Taste wise, I didn't like it. Especially the after taste.
It wasn't unbearable, but it just didn't work for me. Period.
Let's start by establishing- Lina is not a morning person! I'm super tired and cranky almost every morning (no exaggerations here).
Did I feel a boost in my energy? Yes!
It took me a while to realize that was exactly what it was. I'd say after a week of constant use, I realized I was not as tired or cranky as I usually would be (I would actually smile and even go as far as saying good morning, extremely strange and out of character for me.) So major points for that! (+1)
As stated earlier it took the tea (morning cleanse) a while before it started working on my bloating. I wish it was as fast or as effective as the night cleanse.
Would I buy this? Definitely, considering there's going to be a price reduction! (+1)

She messaged me and informed me adequately of the active ingredients and asked me to check to see if I was allergic to anything before sending the product. (+1)
This isn't my first time working with Faiy. I have purchased hair from her and her customer service is always impeccable, so this time it was no different. (+1)

Taste: The tea tastes like bubble gum. It has a really nice taste not anything nauseating.
How it's been working for me: I've seen some changes but not so significant because I'm not done with the pack yet. But so far so good.

Suggestions for improvement
They could include a brochure and go into detail on directions for use. And stuff like what you shouldn't take it with
Because I added sugar once because I didn't know that you weren't supposed to add sugar until I found out on @waisted_by_faiy ig page
And maybe they can also add stuff about side effects in the brochure. Something cute and little
And even a 'thank you for your purchase' note could be attached to the had of the briefcase
